How it works

Your signed client agreement is your agreement with Exodus 2.0. This page describes how the service runs. Read it with the Risk warning and the Privacy notice.

1. The service

An automated strategy trades one master account at TradeQuo, in gold (XAUUSD). When you connect your own TradeQuo MT5 account, we run a MetaTrader 5 terminal for it on our trading server. It copies every master trade to your account, sized as section 4 explains. TradeQuo offers gold with leverage, so the risk is high.

  • We give no advice. Nothing here is a personal recommendation.
  • We promise no result. You can lose all the money in your trading account.
  • We are not your broker. Your account, money and trades are with TradeQuo.
  • We never hold your money. You pay our fee yourself (section 5).

2. Your account

A real MT5 hedging account at TradeQuo, one per Exodus 2.0 account. We do not copy to demo accounts or to netting accounts.

3. The terminal

It places, changes and closes trades on your account in line with the master, until you pause or disconnect. It logs in with your MT5 trading password, which we store encrypted, only the part of our server that runs the terminals can read, and we delete when you disconnect. MT5 cannot withdraw money: withdrawals are made in your TradeQuo client area.

Your own trades are left alone. A copied trade you close or change by hand is not opened again.

4. Sizing

Each copy is the master's trade size times your equity divided by the master's, converted into the master's currency where the two differ, and rounded to TradeQuo's lot step. New copies change size as either account grows or shrinks.

A copy below TradeQuo's minimum size is rounded up to that minimum, so a small account carries more risk than its size suggests.

We do not copy to an account worth more than 25 times the master account's equity, which is about £250,000 today, measured in the master account's currency. Above that, new trades are not copied until the account is back within that size, and your overview says so. Open copies are still managed. Every copy is sized from the master's equity, so the limit caps the harm if that figure were ever wrong.

A copy is never larger than TradeQuo's maximum lot size for gold. Prices, timing, costs and rounding mean your results will not match the master's exactly.

5. Our fee

Our fee is 25% of the net profit made by copied trades, charged only on profit above your previous best (a high-water mark). You keep the other 75%. A different split, if you have one, shows in Settings and on every statement.

  • What counts. The realised profit or loss of copied trades, after TradeQuo's swap and commission. Your own trades, deposits and withdrawals never count. Each deal counts on the day TradeQuo books it: a trade's profit when it closes, and its entry commission when it opens.
  • Each trading day. A calendar day on TradeQuo's server clock, the clock your MT5 app shows. Your first is the day your account starts copying. A day with no copied trades has no statement.
  • The high-water mark. We keep a running total of the profit from copied trades since you joined. Our share is charged only on the part of it above its highest previous day end, so after a loss nothing is charged until it is made back. If you connect a different TradeQuo account, your running total and previous best carry over to it, unless it is in a different currency: a total cannot be carried across currencies, so that account starts from zero.

An example, in your account's currency:

DayCopied tradesRunning totalPrevious bestCharged onOur share
Day 1 +1,000.00 1,000.00 0.00 1,000.00 250.00
Day 2 -400.00 600.00 1,000.00 0.00 0.00
Day 3 +700.00 1,300.00 1,000.00 300.00 75.00

A statement appears under Profit share once all of a trading day's trades have reached us, usually within an hour. It is due within 24 hours after the trading day, or after the day it is issued if that is later. A final statement (section 6) is due within 24 hours of the disconnect, or of the day it is issued if that is later. Each shows the amount, the due date, the reference to quote and how to pay.

A statement not paid by its due date shows as overdue, and we may pause copying until it is paid. There is no other charge. TradeQuo's own costs, such as spreads, commission and swap, are between you and TradeQuo.

6. Pausing and disconnecting

Pause at any time in Settings: no new trades are copied, pending copied orders are cancelled, and open copies are still managed until they close.

Disconnect at any time in Settings: we cancel pending copied orders, stop your terminal and delete the stored password. Open copies stay open with their stop loss and take profit, and are yours to manage.

The current trading day then closes at once in a final statement, due within 24 hours. Copies still open are valued at the price then, before any commission TradeQuo charges when they close. That valuation stands in either direction. A copy valued on a final statement is counted at that valuation only: if you connect again and the terminal picks it up, it is not valued or counted again.

A final statement waits, and is issued under Profit share once we have finished it, if:

  • Your terminal was not reporting. It was not connected to TradeQuo, or had not reported to us in the two minutes before you disconnected, or its report did not match our record of your open copies. We value the open trades ourselves.
  • Old and new copies were open together. Copies from an earlier connection were already valued, so we value only those opened since this connection began.
  • An earlier statement is still open. Each statement starts from the running total of the one before.

A final statement that waited is due within 24 hours of the day it is issued. Disconnecting does not close your Exodus 2.0 account.

7. Interruptions

The service depends on our server, the internet, MetaTrader 5 and TradeQuo, and any of them can fail. A trade can then be copied late, at a different price or not at all, and a copy may not close when the master's does. A terminal that cannot trust the master's latest information does nothing until it can, and does not copy a master trade more than five minutes old.

If something looks wrong we may stop all copying at once, closes included. Copies keep the stop loss and take profit held at TradeQuo. We do not promise the service is always available or that every trade is copied.

8. What to watch

  • Your account and its margin, in your MT5 app. Margin calls and stop outs are between you and TradeQuo.
  • A new trading password at TradeQuo: enter it in Settings, or copying stops.
  • Your sign-in for this website: keep it to yourself.
  • Each statement's due date.
